A look back at my cartoon pilot “The Fart Guy,” and how modern tools like AI are making it possible to bring ambitious animated series to life.
Every creator has a folder of passion projects—those bold, slightly crazy ideas that you pour your heart into. Today, I want to dig one out of my archives. Meet a hero of absurd proportions, the star of a series I started years ago: “The Fart Guy.”
Yes, you read that correctly.
Conceived as a parody of the grim, dark-knight archetype, “The Fart Guy” is my take on a superhero with a… unique and potent set of powers. The idea was simple: create a hilarious, cartoon-style animated series that embraced absurd humor. I developed the character, wrote the scripts, and produced two complete pilot episodes, establishing his world and comedic tone.
It was a project fueled by pure creative energy, but as any independent animator knows, producing a full series requires a massive investment of time and resources. Life got in the way, and “The Fart Guy” was put on an indefinite pause.
A Possible Return? How Technology is Changing the Game
For years, resuming production seemed like a distant dream. However, the landscape of animation is rapidly evolving. The rise of powerful AI-driven tools is starting to revolutionize the workflow for creators. Tasks that were once time-consuming and costly can now be streamlined, making independent series production more accessible than ever.
This new reality has me thinking: is it time for “The Fart Guy” to make his explosive return? While it’s just a thought for now, it highlights a crucial point for anyone looking to create their own animated show: it has never been a better time to turn your vision into a reality.
From a Personal Pilot to Your Professional Series
While “The Fart Guy” was my own creative playground, it was also an incredible learning experience that sharpened my skills in every aspect of series production. That experience hasn’t gone to waste.
In recent years, I’ve had the privilege of working with several clients to develop and produce pilots for their own animated series. My role has been to take their initial concept and guide it from a simple idea to a fully-realized proof-of-concept, ready to be pitched.
My animated series development service includes:
Concept & Story Development: Helping you refine your idea, characters, and world.
Character Design & Model Sheets: Creating appealing, animation-ready characters in a distinct cartoon style.
Scriptwriting & Storyboarding: Translating your story into a visual blueprint for animation.
Full Pilot Production: Managing the entire animation process to deliver a high-quality pilot episode that brings your vision to life.
Do You Have the Next Great Animated Character?
Whether your hero fights crime with super-strength or just… super-gas, every great story deserves a chance to be told. If you have an idea for an animated series and are looking for a creative partner to help you produce a professional pilot, I’d love to hear from you.
Let’s create the next unforgettable animated show together.
